A Man Called Ove Book Review

– A Man Called Ove By Fredrick Backman –

I tried to get into this book a couple times but was finding it difficult to stay focused because it wasn’t a thriller like I’m used to. 3rd times a charm! I am so glad I powered through because it was funny and so heart-warming. You can’t help but fall in love with Ove, a stubborn grumpy old man. Many times I giggled at Oves ways and many times I felt my heart swell at the softness Sonja and Parvaneh saw in him that he tried to hide. No this book is not a thriller, no big twists, no psychopaths, no murderers and no big revelations. This book is a story that will thaw the coldest of hearts and leave you wanting to be a better person. It deals with loss, grief, judgement, community and love. Sometimes the grumpiest people have the biggest hearts. Give it a read ♡

I rate it a 9/10 – it was a bit slow to start but once you got settled in, it was an easy read and really enjoyable.
