The Handmaid’s Tale Book Review

– The Handmaid’s Tale By Margaret Atwood –

Margaret Atwood has an exceptional talent of writing. Though her descriptions were enjoyable, they were a bit lengthy at times and I lost track of the topic. Other than that, the details and emotions came alive with each page.
The Handmaids Tale as a whole was a fascinating read. A very different world, but with bits and pieces of history we have heard before. If there is one thing to have taken away from this, is that no matter how much you try to steel human emotions and pleasures in life, you really never can. We see 2 very different people take different paths for thier chance at survival and fight back in the smallest of ways.

I do wish there was more closure to this book. I also feel I ruined it for myself because I started watching the show a couple years ago but never finished. Usually, I find the books to be way better than the shows and/or movies but for this, the show is the winner. I feel like I read so much and not alot happened, I wanted more. The book left me with so many unanswered questions and saying “that was it?!” Guess I’ll have to read the testimonials to satisfying my hunger… hopefully.
