It is hard to deny the beauty of this story. I was captured from the very beginning and it helped Mr. Tom Hanks was reading it to me!
Patchett is the first author where I found a sort of comfort each time her words engulfed me, a calm came over me as I listened to Danny and Maeve move through generations and how a house that was once a home became the center of so much heartbreak, mended hearts, abandonment, and new beginnings.
A solid SOLID 9/10 because I felt there was no climax, it felt like the same tone throughout the novel, no “Oh Em Gee” moment. Although not a negative because I enjoyed the relaxing read, but that would have taken it to the 10.
